Whoosh explores the theme… MAGIC!
What could be better than magic? We loved getting the glitter pot out this week and sprinkling magic around Sussex 🙂 Enjoy looking through the pictures to see what we have been up to. Hopefully it will inspire some messy magic activities at home too.
Fairy Potions -What could be better than coloured water, rose petals, lemons and some nice smelling herbs? Oh yes of course don’t forget the pinch of magic sprinkles and the secret magic words 🙂
Unicorns and Rainbows – an invitation to play.
Children love both of these things so why not combine them? Coloured rice and pasta, pom poms, cake cases and glitter give many possibilities for play.
The children loved playing in the fairy kingdom. If you want to create this at home then collect some battery powered candles, add some coloured rice and natural items for fairy homes. Then add the little characters to play in their fairy kingdom. You could even make it outside in your garden and add a little cool pool for the fairies to dip their toes in.
Castle in the clouds – this is an amazing sensory experience. Mix shaving foam with cotton wool and it creates a lovely texture. Then your little ones can enjoy making up stories or making marks in the foam.
Dragon craft making – it is amazing how a paper plate can transform quite quickly into a fire breathing dragon!
Check out this little film to see how the hall was set up.
Here are some other ways to explore the theme further at home:
- Create some magical ice cubes using coloured water and glitter. Great addition to a water tray.
- Make wizard potions outside using petals, leaves, herbs. Use your old saucepans, spoons and whisks!
- Use sugar cubes to create a castle for your favourite character.
- You could even have a go making marks/writing in fairy dust. Try using salt and glitter 🙂
Abracadabra, Alacazam -We hope you enjoyed this theme and we look forward to hearing all about your magical adventures 🙂
