Whoosh learning took to the beach this week and we also enjoyed really sunny weather! The seagulls were even cawing overhead as we explored the theme 🙂 The children had great fun finding shells, touching sea foam, playing in rock pools, making sandcastles and we even fed some basking sharks!!! Check out the ideas below to support you with bringing a little bit of summer into your homes and gardens.
Here is how Whoosh explored the beach theme:
We enjoyed making sandcastles at the beach and these ones didn’t get washed away! We practised tapping and patting the bottom of the bucket to help get the sand out.
The children used nets and tweezers to look for different creatures hiding in our rock pool. Some little crabs were even hiding under the big rocks and shells.
The sea foam was great sensory fun! Lurking in the foam there were lots of little creatures which we enjoyed finding. We also made marks in the foam and we made funny moustaches and beards on ourselves! Oh and can you see the octopus hiding?
Water play is always very popular at Whoosh sessions… as you can see! Boats and fishing nets were thoroughly enjoyed!
Wibbly Wobbly Jelly Fish
How many tentacles can you count on the jelly fish?
Feeding Simon the Shark was very popular. We were all very impressed with the throwing skills that our little Whooshies have! Simon was very full up at the end of the session and needed a little rest!
