It has been a busy start to September and I can’t believe how quickly time goes! We have been so busy at Whoosh, creating new exciting themes for all the little ones to explore and have fun with. Below is a little snapshot of what we have been doing over the last 4 weeks.
Week 1 – Journey to outer space!
We started the new Whoosh term with a zoom, blast off and WHOOSH exploring a favourite theme of ours… Space! We enjoyed the story “Whatever Next” and pretended flying to space with our colander helmet!
Week 2 – Magic of Stories
We explored the power of a good picture book in our session to support “International Literacy Day.” We explored some old favourites and of course enjoyed them in a messy/ sensory way!
Week 3 – Pirate fun!
Arrggghhhhh, shiver me timbers, walk the plank!!!! To enjoy and celebrate “Talk like a Pirate day” we explored this theme to the full with lots of water play, pirate boats in foam, making pirate faces, digging for treasure in sand and the frozen sea! We had a swashbuckling time!
Week 4 – Supertato to the rescue!
We all loved this theme and the children particularly enjoyed making a Supertato puppet to take home and save the day! We had lots of Evil peas to find, Spiderman needed help rescuing his friends from the sticky webs and the fire service needed help to put the fire out!
Week 5 – Rainbows
Rainbows are just glorious aren’t they? They really do brighten up a day! We have explored rainbow ice AND rice, played with ponies in rainbow feathers, sorted the cars into the rainbow colours and explored a range of sensory rainbow resources. Wow… a busy and colourful week!
Our last two themes for this term are focused on exploring this glorious season “Autumn”. We will update you soon on our adventures!
Other Whoosh News this Autumn
We have been enjoying starting a new Whoosh tradition which is celebrating all our friends birthdays! We have enjoyed singing, blowing out our playdough cake candles and our best bit is the trumpet blower gifts! Always ends our Whoosh sessions with a loud “toot toot”!
We have also introduced a new online booking system so that it is more accessible for parents to book at any time of day! We still have spaces for next term and it is going to be full of sparkle as we move towards Christmas! Please follow this link to book a place for your child for next term.
Upcoming Whoosh Special events
We had such fun during the summer holidays with our 4 different themed events, Whoosh has come back this season with more holiday fun events for all the family to enjoy. We are so excited about the two big events that will be heading to Haywards Heath over the coming months.
Our first event is “Hallowhoosh” which is a Halloween inspired event. This event is fully booked and is going to be jam packed with fun and engaging ways to explore this spooktastic time of year for little ones. Activities will include making witches soup, exploring snakes in green slime and spiders in their sticky webs and much much more.
Our second event is called “Messy Whooshmas” which is a Christmas inspired event. This event is going to be packed with festive cheer with loads of activities for the whole family to explore just 2 days before Christmas. What better way to start the festivities with playing in reindeer dust, rolling brussel sprouts, exploring candy cane coloured rice and even preparing some reindeer food?
